Dave Schaffer from Schaffer Sound Disc Jockeys gave us tips on how to hire a DJ for your wedding:
1. Quality- How do you find a great DJ? Ask friends, ask the banquet facility professionals who see everyone in the business and make sure you check out online reviews as they are a great indicator of whom to possibly contract and whom to avoid.
2. Professional- So now that you found someone you think is a great spinner, make sure they are a professional. Ask if there is a plan to back up the entertainer and the equipment in case of an emergency. If they stammer or tell you that won’t happen to them, look elsewhere as that is a major red flag. A professional DJ company will offer online planning tools so you can plan at your own pace and not rely on their office hours. Also a true professional will carry business liability insurance as most wedding facilities will not allow them on their property without it.
3. Experienced- You don’t want to experiment with your big day so make sure the DJ in question has performed at hundreds of weddings. While not imperative, it also helps for your DJ to have had some prior experience performing at your wedding reception hall.
Follow these pro tips to make sure you have the best DJ Entertainment at your wedding!
